Make these easy, no-bake energy bites for hiking. Oatmeal energy balls are the perfect on-the-go snack, with only four ingredients: oats, nut butter, honey, and chocolate chips.

  • 3.0 cup quick oats
  • 1.0 cup peanut butter
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips

  1. Mix all ingredients. Yep, it’s that easy! Place all of the ingredients into a bowl, and once you’ve added everything, give it a good stir to combine.
  2. Chill for a bit. Now that you’ve got the mix together, pop the mixture into the fridge for about 30 minutes. This makes it easier to shape later. Plus, it’s a great excuse to get outside and go for a walk while you wait!
  3. Shape ‘Em Up: Time to remove the mixture from the bowl. Using your hands, roll the mixture into 1-inch balls. About the size of a walnut should do. Just a warning, this stuff makes your fingers sticky! So, to prevent sticking, dip your fingers into some water from time to time.
  4.  Roll, Set, Go!: Place the bites 1 to 2 inches apart on a tray or container and refrigerate for another hour or until they’re firm. Or, if you’re like me, sneak one (or three) before they’re completely set.
